Graduation time is here !! For those students graduating this year, here are some important details for our Hillcrest recognition of our graduating class 2021.
Recognition dates and times for graduation:
How it will work :
Friday, June 18,21; Students with the last name starting with the following A’s -D inclusive are invited to come to Hillcrest between 9:00-11:00 am. Those students with last names starting with E- K are invited from 1:00 -3:00 pm to come to Hillcrest.
Monday, June 21: Students with the last name starting with the following L-R inclusive are invited to come to Hillcrest between 7:30am -9:30 am Those students with last names starting with S-Z are invited from 11:00 -1:00 pm to come to Hillcrest.
If you can’t make it, the first three time slots can come on Monday June 21, 21 between 11-1:00pm.
On the day you attend, the graduating student and 2 guests (bubble of three max), will enter the school on the north side of the building ( Doors closest to Smyth street ) enter through cafeteria doors . Your bubble group of 3 will be directed towards your cap and gown staging area. Once you have your cap and gown you will be directed to the auditorium in your bubble. The graduate will walk across the stage, the 2 guests will be able to take pictures ( please bring your own camera ) while on the stage. The bubble of three will be directed through front doors all the while staying in your bubble of three. Upon exiting the auditorium you will be directed outside for more pictures on the front lawn. You will return the gown, collect your swag bag and off you go for the summer !!
Asynchronous classes
On June 18 and June 21 your grade 12 classes will be taught Asynchronously to allow students to prepare and attend the day.
Photos
Guests are encouraged to bring their own camera to take photos. We are arranging to have one photo station for a staff member to take a bubble photo of the graduate and 2 guests. We will share these photos at a late date
Ottawa Public Health Notice
Students will be permitted to have no more than 2 guests accompany them to the in-person graduate recognition in the school. All Ottawa Public Health guidelines related to in-person graduate recognition will be in place. All attendees, supervisors and participants must: wear masks (masks may be briefly removed for photographs provided appropriate distancing is in place), adhere to physical distancing guidelines, sign in (with a phone number) and out of the space, sanitize hands when entering/exiting the space, engage in confirmation of self-assessment screening.
